PPM is in dire need of affiliates to exchange links.
Subject description: Do you have a gaming, modding or an interesting active project site to affiliate with PPM?
Hello everyone! Since the creation of this site, we've been estimulating other sites that cover similar topics than what PPM covers to affiliate with us. By affiliating, we initially expect to exchange links. We link the site that affiliate with us while they link us as well, in a visible and browsable part of their site. But that's just the first part. Affiliations also helped us to estabilish joint ventures with the creation of events, competitions and many other actions to get one site known in the other community.
Unfortunately, we are low on active affiliates that are outside Revora. Most of our affiliated sites were related to Command & Conquer games, and since the end of EALA (and recently with the end of Victory Games as well), the C&C community activity has dropped considerably and many sites closed or they were just left in archival state or, for unknown (non-stated) reasons, they simply do not display a link to PPM anymore.
Anyway, we are looking to extend our contact with other places that cover games that are not necessarily restricted to Command & Conquer, but that can be moddable. Or we'd also love to get closer to mod projects or game projects as well.
For further information on how affiliation works with PPM, check this article. If you simply want to affiliate, you can also post in a reply with the name of your site and its URL. QUICK_EDIT

How about making the unit use different palettes when it belongs to different countries? _________________

It's a massive role-play website where users create whole nations based entirely on their own political beliefs. I've seen maybe hundreds of countries in NS based upon Command and Conquer factions. _________________ Okay, my signature was starting to annoy even me. QUICK_EDIT
^^checked the site and couldn't find the slightest trace of C&C related stuff, so imo not the right place.
If you add such a site, then you could also add facebook, since many C&C mods have an account there. But it simply wouldn't fit imo.
@Banshee: if there are Blizzard games modding sites, i would recommend adding them.
It might also help to add indie game projects like
M.A.X. Like OpenRA, they try (or achieved it already) to recreate the round based strategy game M.A.X.
and other modded games like
BOTF an old Star Trek based civilization similar game, which is also heavily modded through the years. Other Star Trek games like the RTS Star Trek: Armada are heavily modded too and could fit as well. (btw, for BOTF and ST Armada 2 i also created my personal mods) _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings

Hi Banshee, I can't offer affiliate links, but is there anywhere I can donate to the running of PPM? _________________ Singer-Songwriter Christie Isaac QUICK_EDIT

Wow, welcome back christophski.
After 6 years of inactivity the first thing you want to do is donate to ppm!? Now that's what i call a comeback. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
I check back every now and then, it's great to see the progress everybody is making and I'm sad that I don't have the time any more to join in. I would like to see it continue though, C&C modding was one of the things that got me into software and web development, which I now work in. I'm not earning much just yet (currently an intern), but I'd like to give back.
Is there anyway I can do a recurring donation? I'd rather donate a small amount each month. Otherwise, I don't mind doing it manually.
That's alright, I'll keep doing it as long as I can. Keep up the amazing work.
Going to try out some of the latest mods when I get a chance over Christmas. QUICK_EDIT

Holy shit, Cristopherski lives, truly the end times are upon us.
On the other hand, he does propose a very good idea - I wouldn't mind throwing a few bucks towards PPM once in a while. It's been 10 years, (at least for me) after all. _________________ DUNK! QUICK_EDIT

What's the evil motive behind the sudden comebacks? First Christophski, now Gufu...who next, Clazzy?
Hey, I actually check the forums relatively regularly. I don't post as much, true (hell, my last post was related to a tabletop project I am working on), but I live. We still have the steam group you know, you can always take a look there for everyone (incuding Clazzy, now that you mentioned him). _________________ DUNK! QUICK_EDIT
Wha, no one told me there was a PPM steam group. I never considered looking for one either. Steam's a nice way to keep in touch even if people get tired of modding.
Also, re-railing back to the topic, I could also consider a small monthly payment. If even a handful of members did the same, it would surely sum up to cover the expenses. _________________
If we each donate a bit each month we could easily cover this, and any extra donations could go towards doing competitions or something.
I also check fairly recently but nowadays I mostly run Linux (and Mac OS) and it's quite a hassle to set up mods, especially some of these ones that have their own installer. I've not had the time to try and make them work. _________________ Singer-Songwriter Christie Isaac QUICK_EDIT
