I got the idea from several images in the TS maunual.pdf:

Here is the final product:

I decided not to do remaps (I don't no why)
This is going to be in my mod Tiberian Sun: Genesis, which is mod of the Beta TS (Like retro except better)
Here are the attachments:

Soooo... It's basicly a component tower with a square [forgot what its called]? Not saying it's bad or anything, I mean it looks like the one on the pics.

I did that for my mod too... should really release all the bits i managed to do before i closed the mod.
Also you have high expectations about your mod being better than TS: Retro, Retro is very good so you have alot of work to do to even come par with it Wink

And either the gifs are fucked up, or the colors on the SHP are very wrong.

fucked up GIFs. Should be saved in the original TS units palette. A more-than-one-millisecond delay after each frame would be nice, too.

afaik this happens if you export the frames with shp-builder.
use xcc mixer to export them into single pictures and use a third party gif-animator, e.g. "Easy GIF Animator". Then all colors are correct, you can make the anim loop and you can change the duration how long each frame is shown.

Humm...the remap should be brighter, and the dark spot in the middle of the square should be more narrow.

See the attached image (my own approach).
