A never seen before Tesla Zap
Subject description: My homemade Tesla Zap with the help of the SHP Railgun Tutorial
This is my first post on this forum
OK im am a long term visitor of this forum and registered today.
I Think its very wierd that I havent seen this particle system in any other modifications than my home made one, the only others i have seen is one that uses EMP particles with a Flame Thrower particle system and laser based that is not even close to this one. So I created my own one when the SHP Railgun tutorial for RA2 was published.
Íve made a Tesla Zap much like in Redalert1 or in Redalert2 by the help of the Tesla .shp file in Redalert1 and the SHP Railgun tutorial made by Gamemate for Redalert2 in the RA2 Tutorials Vault at: http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4825

dont forget to add TESLA1 sound entries in the Sound.ini or Sound01.ini
also dont forget to add the .shp files into a ecacheXX.mix file and the Sound hopefully into a SoundXX.mix file
There is also a couple of issues with this one:
1. Buildings with charge anims cant use this one, the result is totaly bugged charge anim. The problem can be seen with all Railgun based weapons
2. It works the best with single barreled units becaus it looks more cool if the unit is rapidly firing. If the unit has twin Coils/barrels like the Tesla Tank in RA2 the Zap will altenate between the Coils and has to wait untill the Zap has dispated untill its able to fire from the secondary Coil
3. The Third problem is that the railgun particle system zaps gets stopped by hills and cliffs like Railguns but is still able to do damage if its based on Damage and not Ambientdamage[/url]

it's not a bumping, he asks something.
I used bits of this to make my blue laser and I remember I crashed the game many many times when testing it. Particles and Particles system are rather sensible. I guess the problem lay there :

And Worm4981 I like the white laser line in the middle if you see this
I dont want to be another bump master but I really do advisde you to use a tesla animation in Unittemp pallette and simply use the alt pallete tag in art.ini and it will look much more bright blue instead of being shaded down. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

Those Tesla shocks are cool but the laser line in the center makes it look like a laser with electric shocks coming out of it but still cool _________________ Please, I DON'T read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
