Long live the Command & Conquer!
Sorry for the lack of news recently. I have a test tomorrow and I have to admit that I'm still not prepared to take this one. I wouldn't post any news now if I haven't received the following email from Apoc:
"Hey guys,
So I’ve been gone the past 24 hours and did not realize that some re-direction of the RA2, Tiberian Sun, and Renegade sites had possibly taken place, albeit a technical error if this is true. I am a bit confused as to what this redirection is referring to because if you click the link below you can access all of these official sites as normal.
I saw Banshees rant and of course would like to look into this.
I will say the Renegade site does look pretty slim which I will look into as well. Clearly, we did not intentionally intend to redirect any links you are trying to access directly to the Generals site and by no means is this a conspiracy to drive more people to the Generals site. Of course, we want the entire C&C community to recognize the 10th anniversary story I created at the Generals page (which will be updated on Monday with part 2 of the Louis Castle interview), but again, any redirection of links to pre-Generals games was not intended.
So, bottom line for everyone in the C&C community, click the link above, check out your favorite pre-Generals sites, and in the mean time, I will look into what the apparent uproar is all about.
If anyone on this list would like to send me a simple e-mail detailing with links and such, that would be appreciated. This is simply a technical error if anything, it could have happened when I updated the Generals site, or not, either way, I’ll look in to it.
For C&C love!!!
APOC"
So, fortunatelly this was an accident and that EA still cares for the old games. Now let the party continue . QUICK_EDIT
What a bunch of...excuse my french here...bullshit...They made that link just to save their damn asses. -_-
If they really cared, they would bring back ALL of the old sites, as in, OLD Red Alert 1 site, Old C&C site...And not leave them with a image of a box, and a small detail thing... I believe those games should be shown in their good ol' retro image.
Especially during this time anyway. _________________ ... QUICK_EDIT

EA is a big place and it has some bureaucracy involved to do these things. I believe he is doing his best to sort it.
Yeah...Bashee's probably right. Although it probably also just Apoc fighting agasint the rest of EA for the sake of the community
OT:I find the use of you calling EA a bureaucracy funny, but you probably won't get it if you haven't red C.S. Lewis"s 'screwtape letters'.
He depicts Hell as a giant bureaucracy complete with bosses, an academy of sorts, CEOs, and secretaries. _________________
Or, as the president says in RA2 "I don't give a wooden nickel about you."
Dugan - We have... Err... You're throwing everything you got on us, Alex!
Romanov - Well Mr President, we have our legacy to consider!
Dugan - I don't give a wooden nickle about your legacy!!! I'm the one who put you in the office! You call them off! You know when we're telling it...
Romanov - Well, don't be so sure Mr President....
*Hell March 2 starts*
Something like that....
Ooooooooh I just love the intro movies to the Command & Conquer games...
As for the C&C sites and stuff... I have faith in EA... Not by far as much as I had for Westwood though but I feel they're much more supportive and caring now... _________________

An accident that only affected all the most common links and ways of accessing the old pages, but didn't affect the legal mumbo-jumbo links or, say, www.redalert3.com that nobody ever clicks.
Sure. I believe that. Just like I believe in Red Alert 3 itself and another patch for Renegade from EA. QUICK_EDIT
Yeah, the last Renegade WOL update was in @))#! Umm.. 2003..
Something I thought of last night while trying to go to sleep.
Gaming companies are kind of like RA2.
There are two types, the Allied, or the Soviets. Allies, like WW and Bungie*, make fewer, higher quality games. Soviets, like EA, mass produce shitty games.
*Yes, Bungie. They still are patching Halo (I)!
Just tell my my logic isn't really logical. Think about it. _________________

I would say that Allies are like EA, Allies units are pretty crap overall (Light tank) but they're faster to produce , and Soviet's focus more on strentgh on certain units (Mammoth tank). Well whatever~~# _________________

Infantrywise Tyler is right, Vehiclewise Tesla is right.
If we're talking YR, EA is definitely Yuri. Mass-producing (cloning) expensive yet average-rate goods (Initiates) while taking over (mind control) others, moving resources and their programmers all over (slave miners! Poor Westwood) while treating the programmers not-always-nicely... and just plain tearing apart good things because they want something new (grinders!). _________________

QUICK_EDIT

That made me giggle! Hehe greatly summed up, mate =)

By the way, Bansee, got an ETA on when the OMC3 results of RA2 and Generals will be available for public? I'm curious! _________________
