I want Final sun to use my mod instead of Tiberian Sun game files. I changed the path 'Exe=" in FinalSun.ini to where my modded TS is but it still doesn't work. I heard someone say it uses the registry, where and how do i fix this?

I don't know, but in the meantime someone resourceful answers, you could try to uninstall TS. If it can't find the reg key, I think it prompts you to select the path to the TS directory.

Those who can disassemble the exe can probably give a better solution, but one way to fix this
-open the finalsun.exe with a hex editor
-search for "Software\Westwood\Tiberian Sun" (without quotation marks)
-change "Software\Westwood\Tiberian Sun" into "abcdefgh\abcdefgh\abcdefghijkl" (note that the edited string has the exact same amount of characters as the old one. Do not change any offsets.)

the registry key that finalsun searches for the game files doesn't exist anymore and this way you force finalsun to use the path from finalsun.ini

Awesome thanks it works now, but I have a question. What will happen if I change the path and it doesn't have the same amount of characters?

you change the offsets of all the following bytes and this way completely mess up the program so it won't work anymore.
e.g. a function addressing a certain byte after this will then get wrong data
