Third Theater You decide...
Well me and the other terrain artists of Twisted Insurrection have hit a bump in the road. We're going to add a third theater in addition to Temperate and Interior but we can't decide upon what we want.
Our temperate theater practically makes up 5 of it's own theaters:
And our Interior terrain also makes up for two of it's own theaters:
- Interior (duh)
- Subterranean/Underground
This is where we hit our standstill. Even though our third theater probably wont come until a later release (or maybe not) we don't know what it will be. Snow is the main option we have but I for one definitely don't prefer it (even though I am missing it...). I've added a poll, you can either vote for Snow or Other. Please post thoughts, opinions etc.

Deserty, full on desert, quicksand units can fall into, buried buildings, cactuses, tiberium lifeforms and plant forms that have adapted to survive the hot and sandy lands.
I would like to see arctic but a real arctic, meaning it is not fully covered in snow, more like a tundra. Maybe mix it with a regular arctic tileset. Therefore having both this and an arctic theater in one like your temperate.

I don't really think green zones fit into TI's world situation.
Tundra sounds good but so does the volcanic terrain.. I'd go with tundra though, I mean - volcanic scenario would be a pretty rare one, even in the world of tiberium, wouldn't it?
Tropic. it would be easy, and who knows what Tiberium mutations would lurk in a once lush rain forest.

SPACE TERRAIN! CAUSE THAT"D BE AWESOME AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH TI!!!!!!
lul
and now seriousness...
I'd say IF you add a 3rd theater then make it Arctic/snow or like Tony said Tropical. Though tropical would have to be HIGHLY unique and original ideas. Which hasn't stopped you guys before.
Though I always liked the snowy bits in TD. IIRC TD had small tiny snow tiles on a few maps mainly around trees and what not but that the main ground remained the temperate grassy. (been awhile since i've played the campaign of TD mind you) I think if you could add something like that to your normal theater or make it it's own that would be cool.
iīm going for vulcano terrain
gives you nice possibillities for triggers like eruptions...etc
i also like the tropical idea, having some tiberio-rasta-saurus
some jungle stuff could really be great. having missions where you have to scout the map for an unknown thread to villages in this jungle. CHUPACABRA ^^
Not very difficult to combine jungle and volcanic styles, if you don't mind ending up with an Indiana Jones type of theatre. It'd be cool to see lava pits and burning rivers below the lush jungle.
Seismic effects of plate tectonics in equatorial pacific areas... Gah, I thought I'd forgotten what I learned in Geology! D:

Am I the only one who wants snow? Or, why not make the third theater a collection of theaters, with snow, volcanic and jungle tilesets? This would, of course, possess a problem: the buildings' art must fit to all of the "theaters", so you couldn't have snow on them if you plan to make a volcanic environment
If TI's getting no snow theater, then I'd go with Jungle/volcanic.

My vote goes for Snow/Arctic.
What, I live in Finland and our nature is on its best atm, what more can you expect? Snow looks so pretty!
And it would be different compared to the current theater.

I would like to see the ol' snow theatre, although at the moment (like everyone else in Britain) I'm fed up of snow.

My friend, please remember Auto-LAT and palette limitations before posting such nonsense.

Who else voted for don't add a third?
It seems Arctic and True-Desert threaters are favourable options... Hmm.
Jungle would be sweet, but could be made as part of temperate if needed. I voted arctic, was the best terrain in TS IMO. I'd also love to see some tiles done showing tiberium glowing through the ice.

imo this quote is 100% true, all the WW CnC games had great snow Theaters (well at least CnC1 now has) . even generals looked good (imo & i know generals didnt have Theaters like in TS,etc)
a better one now)

You guys don't know snow like Canada does. -40 degree Celsius is quite cold.
Would Tiberium kill all the tree's in jungles though? So I'd go with snow.

You can make the current temperate look hot, dry, or even humid. However you can make it look cold. I think a frozen or artic theater would provide the greatest contrast.

Maybe not lunar but what about an orbital platform, maybe Rodger the engie needs to go fix the Ion Cannon mission. Would be need to see some kind of orbital platform/space station terrain, it could probably be merged with the interior. I really don't know how different it would be...

I think a combination of volcanic and tropical would be awesome, you could even add some ancient tribal sites, quicksand using the ice logic, dense impassible sections of vegetation, magma pools etc etc.

Afterboom was an awesome concept! It just has no chance in hell of being revived for TI.
From looking at this topic, it seems Volcanic, True Desert and Arctic are favoured. Those of you whom are saying lunar are not serious, right? I'd appreciate you cut the fucking idiocy if not, it's not welcome here.

Well, i think this:
jungle/volcanic sounds pretty wicked. they could work well together, and quicksand could work great with the ice logic. Indiana Jones meets C&C. Wicked.
The arctic/tundra could be achieved with the temperate terrain (so long as we make it), and when we do those maps, all we'd have to do is have alternate images with snow on them, and the mapper could just use the "image=" tag in the .ini editing to give the structures snow. I really like the idea of fighting in places like that.

The temperate palette is far too limited in white colors for such a thing, not to mention AUTO-LAT LIMITATIONS! I for one will not even consider mapping if I'd have to place every LAT and LAT fixes manually for about a month.
Starcraft sucks, though I do quite like its terrain.

Really!? You do not like starcraft? I'm shocked by that to be honest.
I'm a to-this-world guy, I don't like anything out of it. Starcraft and Tiberian Sun both fit into that category, I only mod TS cause I like the engine. Maybe this will help some of you understand why I hate scrin so much.
